Masonic Functions

A Toastmaster will usually preside when a lodge arranges a Ladies Night or Ladies Festival, to which partners and other non-members are invited.

Your Toastmaster will:

• Arrange the receiving line and introduce guests to the President & his Lady

• Liaise with the Festival secretary, photographer, banqueting manager, band leader, DJ or other entertainment

• Call guests to dinner

• Announce the entrance of The President & his Lady

• Announce Grace by the Lodge Chaplain

• Announce the singing of Grace

• Announce wine takings between courses

• Announce The Loyal Toast by The President

• Call stewards to collect ladies' gifts

• Announce charity / arrangements for selling raffle tickets

• Announce speeches, and the Ladies' Song (and sing if required)

• Lead the President and his lady from the banquet

• Announce first dance of President & his Lady

• Organise / announce the raffle draw

• Any other duties requested by festival committee

• Close proceedings as appropriate
