Why train to become a Professional Toastmaster?

Glann Mayes, Training Director

Steeped in centuries of tradition, the role of Toastmaster is also modern and compelling.

While weddings, celebrations and other formal functions remain as important to us now as they ever were, they are evolving as our nation becomes richer and more diverse in its mix of different peoples.

Far from fading away, the role of Toastmaster has expanded towards new ceremonies. Celebrations of civil partnerships are now part of our cultural fabric. Asian weddings and Jewish bar- and bat-mitzvahs have entered the mainstream, too. And each will turn to a Professional Toastmaster to lend flair, ceremony and lift the day to that extra level.

But there's also much more to the role of a modern Toastmaster. Company events, balls, parties private and public, and ceremonies of all types benefit from the gravitas and professional assurance that a Toastmaster conveys. Professional Toastmasters regularly help ensure events with after dinner speakers, dignitaries in attendance, or civic functions run smoothly and with the correct etiquette where this is important.

In short, any function that attracts a number of guests and demands a schedule of events will run more smoothly and professionally if a Toastmaster is present.

For you, becoming a Professional Toastmaster, promises many new horizons. Even more than the additional income you’ll receive, you’ll gain satisfaction from having helped others at a special time. You’ll grow in confidence, thanks to the skilled and thorough training we’ll provide. This will benefit across every avenue of your life. You’ll travel, expenses paid; the best British Toastmasters are regularly invited to top events across the globe.
